When it comes down to popular video game consoles ever created by Nintendo aside from the NES the SNES along with Wii console are two systems that comes to mind. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System has many classics such as the Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario Kart, Mega Man X, Contra: Alien Wars and many others that are considered to be 16-bit gems to this day. Since its initial release back in 1990 the SNES has managed to sell over 49 million units worldwide. Also, most recently the SNES Classic which was released back in September 2017 managed to reach over 5 million units in just a year which is a testament to popular the 16-bit console was and still is to this day.

The Wii console on the other hand is considered to be one of the best selling systems that Nintendo has ever developed. Since its release back in November 2006 the Wii has managed to reach over 101 million units worldwide in sales due to the popularity of games such as Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda: Twilight Princess and more. Not only was the Nintendo Wii one of the best selling game consoles of the 00’s but it also managed to surpass the likes of the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 between 2006-2012 overall. While the SNES May of had more memorable games back in the early to mid 90’s the Nintendo Wii had far more success in retail overall between the mid 00’s and early 10’s.
