Upcoming Games- The Pathless: (2020)

As far as upcoming games are concerned in relation to this year one of the few indie titles to be on the lookout for right now is The Pathless. For those who do not know The Pathless is an adventure game with a very basic cliche plot that involves banishing darkness from the world. The Pathless is game developed by video game developer known as Giant Squid and published by Annapurna Interactive that is set to appear on multiple game consoles including PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows , iOS along with PlayStation 5. The game sees players controlling a hunter who is an expert at archery as they hunt down corrupted spirits. The Pathless is packed with secrets and puzzle games that players will eventually run into as they explore the ancient runes. As players progress throughout the game they eventually develop a bond with an eagle who eventually becomes their companion as they seek to complete their quest.

One of few things that stands out the most about The Pathless are the optimal visuals along with the gameplay. The Pathless looks like a game that would be a bigger attraction on Apple Arcade than it would the PlayStation 4 or the PS5 especially since 3D indie games like it attract more attention on that game system. In fact, if the Pathless was a Apple Arcade exclusive it would probably add to its overall value since it would difficult for gamers to get their hands-on. The Pathless will also be appearing on Apple Arcade as well we still have no official release date as it relates to 2020. Hopefully, The Pathless will be released sometime before or around the holiday season this year. Worst case scenario is that the release date for The Pathless gets pushed back to 2021. The release date for The Pathless will most likely be revealed in next few months or so since we are more than halfway through 2020.

As it currently stands 30XX is scheduled to be released sometime in 2021 on a date that has yet to be revealed. As far as gameplay is concerned 30XX is similar to that of its ’14 predecessor 20XX which was released for multiple game systems from that year forward. 20XX was popular among those who were fans of 2D action-platformers back in the late 80’s- early 90’s time period. In fact, some might go as far as to say that 20XX was better than some of the MegaMan games from back in day which appeared on the NES. The gameplay and the visuals for both 20XX were somewhat similar to anything you would see in some of the earlier MegaMan X games from the 90’s which heavily contributed to its appeal. 30XX is basically like its predecessor 20XX but with a different plot that has yet to be explained in detail. Also, similar to its predecessor 30XX is a rougelike platformer where players go on adventures and defeat various enemies and monsters as they progress throughout the game.

The artwork for 30XX stands out more than anything and the game itself looks like it could be a worthy competitor to the likes of Mega Man 11 from 2018. The 20XX game from ’14 was well received by fans and critics alike and was much better than the likes of Mighty No. 9 from 2016. If anything Battery Staples Games has something special with these two XX titles; it provides those who are fans of action-platformers with a fun alternative to what Capcom’s has been providing for years with the MegaMan series. Hopefully, we will learn more about 30XX as we get closer to its official release date in 2021. 30XX has the potential one of the top 2D action platformers of ’21 and it will be interesting to see how popular it becomes next year.

As it currently stands we are still in the dark about various aspects of Guilty Gear: Strive involving the roster, game modes along with the storyline for this upcoming 2.5D fighting title. As it currently stands it looks like Arc System Works might be using the Unreal Engine 4 for Guilty Gear: Strive considering the fact that the Unreal Engine 3 was utilized for Guilty Gear Xrd back in 2014.

The graphics and visuals artwork for Guilty Gear: Strive looks incredible because it resembles something that you would see in a modern day anime.
