Upcoming Games- Valfaris: (2019)

There are so many upcoming games that the world is looking forward to seeing as we progress throughout 2019. As far as indie games are concerned one of the few titles to be on the lookout for is a heavy metal themed 2D action-platformer entitles Valfaris. For those who do not know Valfaris is a game developed by Steel Mantis which is expected to appear on multiple game systems such as the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows later this year. The 2D pixel art for Valfaris looks absolutely stunning and the game itself has a very interesting yet basic plot that players can easily get into.

You will have the opportunity to play as Therion as he discovers the truth about his home as Valfaris plunged deep into darkness after re-emerging in the orbit of a dying sun following its disappearance from galactic charts. As it currently stands no specific release date has been announced for Valfaris but there is no doubt that it has the potential to be one of the most interesting 2D action-platform titles of 2019. Hopefully, we will learn more about Valfaris within the next month or two before its officially released.

Would Luigi have made a better villain within the Super Mario Bros series?

There is no question that the Super Mario Bros series has been legendary since the NES days of the 80’s. Both Mario and Luigi are considered to be an iconic duo in relation to platform adventure games and things have been this way over 30 years now on Nintendo based game consoles. However, some wonder how different the Mario series could have ended up becoming if Luigi started off as a villain before joining his brother Mario. On one hand starting off as a villain could off helped Luigi’s popularity in major way. The idea of having Luigi as a video game boss in one of the first three Super Mario Bros titles would have been very interesting and would of made people look at him much differently then they currently do right now.

As it currently stands characters such as Yoshi are considered to be more popular than Luigi especially considering how many games there has been within the Yoshi series since the early 90’s. Also, Wario was more popular than Luigi at some point especially when he started off as the main villain for Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins for Game Boy back in 1992. Wario was originally a villain before becoming a anti-hero and if Luigi had a similar role within the Super Mario Bros series it could of ended up making him a somewhat cooler than Mario who is often portrayed as a clean cut hero that rescues Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser. In theory, having Luigi as a short term villain who transitions into becoming an anti-hero who works alongside Mario could have worked but Nintendo never intended on making Luigi a more edgier character than his brother.

Was the Game Boy Advance more popular than GameCube during the 2000’s?

As many people know both the Nintendo GameCube along with the Game Boy Advance were popular game consoles that emerged back in the early 00’s. In fact, both game consoles were released back in 2001 since their respective releases they have managed to become two of the most memorable game systems of that decade along wIth lines of the PS2, Nintendo Wii, PS3 and the Nintendo DS. However, as far as popularity is concerned it’s quite debatable on which game console between the Game Boy Advance and GameCube was more popular during the first half of the 2000’s.

On GameCube we got to see cool games such as Metroid Prime, Mario Kart: Double Dash along with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Which were very between 2002-2006. But then, again we got to see countless titles in the Game Boy Advance such as Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Metroid Fusion, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance along with the Super Mario Advance series which seemed to have more appeal due to 2D visuals and gameplay that highly resembled that of the SNES. Besides, the Game Boy Advance managed to sell over 81 million units worldwide while while GameCube reached over 21 million in sales during the 00’s decade. There was no question that the Game Boy Advance was more popular than GameCube back 2000’s despite having inferior graphics.

Could Final Fantasy Tactics Advance worked for GameCube during the 00’s?

When we think about popular JRPG titles of the early 00’s one of the many titles that instantly comes to mind is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Not only was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance one of the most popular tactical role playing games for the Game Boy Advance but it also managed to sell at less one million units worldwide on the handheld console as well. Seeing how big Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was on the Game Boy Advance there are some who wonder if this game could have had the same level of success if it was ported for the Nintendo GameCube back in 2003.

On one hand the original Final Fantasy Tactics game was very successful in the PS1 following its release back in the late 90’s. But seeing that the PS1 ended up being the most successful game console of the 90’s it does not come as a surprise to many people that the original Final Fantasy Tactics game surpassed the likes of Tactics Orge: Let Us Cling Together in terms of popularity. The Nintendo GameCube despite its success was not as popular as the PS1. In fact, the Game Boy Advance ended up selling more than the Nintendo GameCube did during the 00’s. While GameCube had only managed to sell over 21 million units worldwide the Game Boy Advance has reached over 81 million within ten years. In the long run it was better off to have a Final Fantasy Tactics game for the Game Boy Advance opposed to the Nintendo GameCube.

Would Mario Kart Super Circuit have worked on the SNES during the 90’s?

As a racing title for the Game Boy Advance Mario Kart Super Circuit was one of the most popular games of the early 00’s. Since its release back in back in July 2001 the game reportedly managed to sell over 5 million units worldwide. If Mario Kart Super Circuit was released as a direct sequel to the original Mario Kart title for the SNES that would have been very interesting.

Mario Kart Super Circuit had similar gameplay to the original Mario Kart game for the SNES and had a great soundtrack which sounded similar to ones you would hear in the Sonic Advance series. However, despite how popular 2.5 dimension racing games were on the SNES Mario Kart Super Circuit May not have sold as much in the SNES as it did on the Game Boy Advance.
