As far as 3D Nintendo racing titles were concerned both Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Double Dash were two memorable games that the world got a chance to see. While Mario Kart 64 was the first 3D title in the series it was also a game that exceeded the expectations of many people when it was first released. Almost everything from the gameplay to the graphics all the way down to soundtrack for Mario Kart 64 felt perfect. In fact Mario Kart 64 is a N64 classic from the 90’s that many retro gamers would probably play to this very day.

Mario Kart: Double Dash was also a memorable fun racing title back in the early 00’s. One of the main things that stood out about Double Dash was the gameplay. In Mario Kart: Double Dash players could enter Grand Prix Mode In way where players could share the same vehicle with different characters and switch places when ever they desire. Also, players could race against one another in Grand Prix mode against challenging AI which added to the overall replay value of Mario Kart: Double Dash.

While Mario Kart: Double Dash has better graphics and visuals than Mario Kart 64 its hard to say that it was more successful as well. Since its release back in November 2003 Mario Kart: Double Dash had managed to sell around 7 million units worldwide. Mario Kart 64 on the other hand managed to sell 9.8 million units worldwide since its initial release back in December 1996. In this case more people would inclined to agree that Mario Kart 64 was s more successful than Mario Kart: Double Dash.
