Tekken 3 was arguably one of the best 3D fighting titles of the late 90’s.  Shortly after the game was released in arcade centers in the Spring of 1997 Tekken 3 was ported for the PS1 during the spring of 1998.  Along with having a larger roster than its prequel Tekken 3 had better gameplay, cool soundtracks and modes such as Tekken Force which really made this title stand out the most out of the first three games.

Since its release for the PS1 was considered to be a major success in terms of sales since it managed to sell over 7 million units worldwide.  Despite, how successful Tekken 3 was on the PS1 there are many who question whether or not the game could have sold just as much on the Sega Dreamcast.  Considering the fact that the Sega Dreamcast is a 128 bit console the quality of the game could have been much better especially in terms of graphics.  However, the first two Tekken titles were PS1 exclusives and if anything making Tekken 3 available for PlayStation made the game more desirable to have.  Since the first three Tekken games were featured mainly on the PS1 and were all did great in relation to sales it hard to determine if the same thing would have happened if Tekken 3 was released for the Sega Dreamcast.
