It was recently announced the other day that the Wonder Boy Collection will be released for the Nintendo Switch & PS4 sometime in 2022. For those who are unaware the Wonder Boy series started back in ‘86 and spawned multiple sequels up until 1994. This upcoming game collection will feature titles including Wonder Boy (1986), Wonder Boy in Monster Land (1987), Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap (1989), Wonder Boy In Monster Land: (1991) and Monster World IV from (1994). These platform games from ‘86-‘94 are considered to be classics for the Megadrive/ Sega Genesis that are not talked about as much today as they should be. We learned that the Wonder Boy Collection will be developed and published by ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games. However, there has been no official release date for the Wonder Boy Collection as many are expecting it to be released sometime in 2022. Back in the late 80’s-early 90’s the Wonder Boy series was somewhat popular despite not being nearly big as the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog. Despite, the series being dead for over 20 years before the release of Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom in 2018; Wonder Boy is still appealing to old school gamers from the 16-but era of gaming.
