As far as popular games from the 00’s are concerned everyone has there list of favorites in terms of what they consider to be top games within that decade. For those who owned a Nintendo GameCube back in the early 00’s and was a huge fan of the Metroid series in general then there is absolutely no question that you are a huge fan of the Prime series from 2002-2007. While Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was a fantastic first-person action-adventure title some would put its ’02 prequel or even its ’07 sequel above it in terms of quality. However, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was still one of the best GameCube titles of the mid 00’s. In this game players got to see the official debut of Dark Samus after she made a cameo in the original Metroid Prime game. Also, players had the opportunity to explore two different parallel dimensions after Aether is divided into two when a comet hits the planet splitting the planetary energy two creating a Dark Aether in the process.
There where various aspects about Metroid Prime 2: Echoes that people admired including the platform and puzzle solving elements of the game. Also, unlike its 2002 predecessor Metroid Prime 2: Echoes had a multiplayer mode that could allow up to four people with games such as Bounty and Deathmatch which added to its overall replay value. The plot for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes felt like it had a dark tone especially considering the demise of the marines who were attacked by creatures called Ing’s along with the threat that the Luminoth’s faced throughout the game. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was without a doubt a critically acclaimed first-person action-adventure title for GameCube which was eventually ported for the Wii console back in 2009. Since then we have not seen any Wii-U or Switch ports of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes but hopefully the game will be remastered in HD on a current generation console sometime in the future.
