Nintendo 64 (1996) vs GameCube (2001) which console was more popular?

When it comes down to retro game systems produced by Nintendo both the N64 and GameCube are considered to be legendary. While the Nintendo 64 ended up reaching approximately 33 million in sales since its release back in ’96 GameCube managed to hit roughly under 22 million worldwide. Also, when it came down to non-Mario video games the Nintendo 64 seemed like it had more memorable titles than GameCube such 007 GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie and Pokémon Stadium. Aside, from those games we also got Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the N64 which was perhaps the greatest Zelda game ever created.

Even though, we got Zelda: Twilight Princess for GameCube the game was more of an attraction on the Wii console but we still got games such as Super Mario: Double Dash, Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX that stood out for GameCube during the early 00’s. As far as which console had more success overall many people would be inclined to argue in favor of the Nintendo 64 over GameCube in general.
