In relation to this history of gaming November 21st is a very special day. Along with being the 28th Anniversary of Super Mario World today also marks the 20th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. While Super Mario World was the best selling game for the SNES The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ended up becoming the fourth best selling game for the Nintendo 64 by reaching over 7 million units worldwide in sales following it release in November 1998. Since its release Ocarina has been widely regarded as the best Zelda video game of all-time.
The visual presentation along with its gameplay surpassed the expectations of many retro gamers who fans of the series back in the 90’s. In fact, despite Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild selling more copies worldwide some would argue that Ocarina of Time was better game than those two especially since it was the first ever 3D Zelda game ever made. Despite, getting a remake of Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 3DS back in 2011 there is no doubt that the game should be ported or remastered for the Nintendo Switch sometime in the future especially since we are two years away from the game’s 30th Anniversary.
