As of right now Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is one of the hottest shooter titles out in retail right now. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been praised for its online multiplayer “Battle Royale” which makes up for the exclusion of campaign mode which has been generally featured in past CoD games. While PS4 and Xbox One owners have enjoyed the game since its initial release back on the 12th of this month there are some who wonder whether or not we will ever see cross-platform gameplay for CoD: Black Ops 4 between the two game systems in the future. In this case it really depends on whether or not Sony decides to agree to let PC and Xbox One owners play against PS4 users.
Its well known that Sony was initially resistant against the idea of cross-gameplay between their PS4 and those who own rival game systems such as the Xbox One or the Nintendo Switch. But as we all know Sony eventually changed their minds and allowed crossplay between the PS4 and other consoles with Fortnite back in late September. When it comes down to third party games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 having a blockade that prohibits crossplay between rival consoles does not make too much sense and seems petty. Hopefully, as time progresses we will be able to see crossplay between the PlayStation 4 along with the Xbox One later down the line.
