When we think about classics for the Nintendo 64 between 1996-1999 there are so many games that comes to mind including Super Mario 64, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye 007, Banjo Kazooie and more. One titles that was big on the Nintendo 64 during the late 90’s that does not get talked about quite as much is Star Wars: Battle Squadron which was co-developed by LucasArts and Factor 5. Since its initial release back in 1998 Star Wars: Rouge Squadron had managed to sell over one million copies in America. There are some who question whether or not Star Wars: Battle Squadron could of had the same level of success on the PS1 that it did on the Nintendo 64.

In retrospect, having Star Wars: Battle Squadron on the Nintendo 64 was a better choice over that of the PS1. Not only did the Nintendo 64 have more superior visuals in relation to 3D gaming but Star Wars: Battle Squadron stood out more on the 64 bit console. Not only did the PS1 had inferior 3D graphics in comparison to the Nintendo 64 but there were so many games such as Final Fantasy VII, Gran Turismo, Spyro the Dragon, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, Tekken 2 and others that could have easily overshadowed Star Wars: Battle Squadron during that time period.
