As many people know Team Sonic Racing is expected to appear on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch in May 2019 which is something many people are looking forward to seeing. Team Sonic Racing is the first major Sonic racing game that we will get to see since 2010 when Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing was released for the PlayStation 3 along with the Xbox 360. Despite, good Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing was back in the early 10’s and how much potential Team Sonic Racing has in the future it’s hard to even fathom that this upcoming title will rival Mario Kart 8: Deluxe in popularity. Mario Kart 8 has been around since 2014 when the game was originally released for the Wii-U.

Ever since, its release back in May 2014 Mario Kart 8 has sold over 8.4 copies worldwide and has managed to become the best selling game for the Wii-U in general. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch has managed to sell over 11 million copies worldwide since its initial release back in April 2017. As of right now Mario Kart 8: Deluxe is the second best selling video game for the Nintendo Switch begin Super Mario Odessey and it does not seem like Team Sonic Racing will have anywhere close to the success that the game had since April 2017.
