As many people know the Nintendo Wii-U was a game console that fell below the expectations of many people in relation to sales. Since its initial release back in November 2012 the Nintendo Wii-U has managed to sell over 13 million units worldwide. Compared to the original Wii console which reached over 101 million units worldwide in terms of sales the Wii-U is considered to be a failure in terms of sales. Ever since, original Wii console was released back in 2006 it has managed to surpass the line of PlayStation 3 and even the Xbox 360 in relation to sales.

Some argue that if the Wii-U was released back in the mid 00’s opposed to the original Wii game system it could have definitely been more successful. However, the Wii-U was basically a more advanced version of the Nintendo Wii with new accessories and was priced between $349.99 and $299.99. While we did get cool games such as Mario Kart 8 out of the Wii-U its highly doubtful on whether or not the console would have been more successful during the 2000’s than it was from 2012 onwards. There is no doubt that the Wii-U would have sold more than 13 million units worldwide but may not have sold as much as the original Wii console did between 2006-2012.
