When it comes down to popular 3D Sonic the Hedgehog games in general both Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Colors are to game that instantly comes to mind. In fact, Sonic Colors was arguably the best 3D game in the series ever since Sonic Adventure 2 was release back in 2001. Sonic Adventure 2 has managed to sell over 1.4 million units worldwide since its release and was very popular on the Nintendo GameCube back in the early 00’s. Not only did Sonic Adventure 2 introduce new characters such as Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat but the story mode in the game was way better than its predecessor. Challenging levels with the Hero and Dark storylines really added to the overall replay value of Sonic Adventure 2 in general.

Sonic Colors has great visuals along with a nice soundtrack which were two features that probably stood out the most aside from its plot. Since its release Sonic Colors has managed to sell over 2.1 million copies worldwide since its release back in 2010. Despite, how successful Sonic Colors was back in the early 10’s many would argue that Sonic Adventure 2 was more popular on a mainstream level during the early 00’s than Sonic Colors was in the early 10’s.
