When it comes down to awesome music in racing games there is no doubt that the SNES has some cool tunes for titles such as F-Zero and Super Mario Kart which were both released in the early 90’s. Mute City was one of the most catchy yet memorable theme songs in the entire F-Zero series next to the Big Blue theme. Even though, the original F-Zero game did not have the same level of success as Super Mario Kart the soundtrack of the futuristic racing game is considered to be legendary.

Super Mario Kart also had some great tunes as well such as Rainbow Road which had a unique sound and a catchy 80’s sounding bass-line. While there have been multiple versions of Rainbow Road throughout the series the original SNES theme is not considered to be the best. In terms of which VGM was more popular some would probably give the slight edge to Mute City over Rainbow Road for the SNES.
