When it comes down to big SNES titles that never made it to America one of the many games that comes to time is Mario: Excitebike which was first released back in 1997. By the mid 90’s many people in America had already turned away from consoles such as the SNES and started owning PS1’s along with N64’s. The popularity of the N64 would have definitely overshadowed the SNES since more people were into seeing 3D video games during the mid to late 90’s.

However, if Mario: Excitebike was released a few years earlier the game could of have been a success in America when the SNES was still very popular during the early 90’s. In America, Mario: Excitebike would have definitely been overshadowed by titles such as Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 along with various other N64 titles. There were also RPG titles such as Final Fantasy VII which was extremely popular in America along with other parts of the world that would make Mario: Excitebike seem like no big deal at all.
