Super Castlevania IV is one of the most noticeable action adventure platform titles for the SNES. Since it’s release for the SNES back in late 1991 the game has been praised by fans and critics for numerous things including graphics, soundtracks along with level design. As great as Super Castlevania IV was for the Super Nintendo there are some who question whether or not this game could have worked on the Sega Genesis back in the early 90’s.

While seeing a Genesis port of Super Castlevania IV would have been cool it may not have worked out as well as it did on the SNES. The Super Nintendo had some games such as Super Castlevania IV that utilized a special feature known as “Mode 7”. Without the inclusion of Mode 7 Super Castlevania would not have stood out as much as it did on the SNES. Even though, we did not get Super Castlevania IV for the Genesis console we still got Castlevania: Bloodlines in 1994 for that same console.
