The original Star Fox is generally considered to be one of the most historic rail shooter games of all time. When Star Fox was first released for the SNES back in 1993 many people were impressed by various aspects of the game including the use of the Super FX Micro Chip along with the 3D like graphics that the game provided. Ever since its release Star Fox has managed to sell over 4 million copies worldwide and was eventually re-released for the SNES Classic back in September 2017.

If Star Fox was released for the NES opposed to the SNES the game would not have been nearly as popular as it was back in the 90’s. Also, the NES was not capable of running a game such as Star Fox since it was only an 8 bit console. In fact, the Sega Genesis may not have been able to pull off such a game like Star Fox during the early 90’s especially since the console did not have games that included the use of the Super FX Micro Chip.
