As a platform beat em up title X-Men Mutant Apocalypse was a very cool game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in the early 90’s. While the X-Men animated series became populararound the mid 90’s the world got to see three X-Men movies between 2000 and 2006 which which all did pretty good as far as the box office is concerned. During the early 00’s we got to see several NES/SNES games remade or ported for the Game Boy Advance such as the Super Mario Trilogy, Final Fantasy I & II, etc.

It’s questionable to some why X-Men Mutant Apocalypse was never ported for the Game Boy Advance back in the early to mid 00’s especially considering how popular the series still was at the time. While we did get X-Men: Reign if Apocalypse for the Game Boy Advance in late 2001 some would argue that it was not quite on the same level as X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse in terms of gameplay and visual presentation. X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse was an SNES Classic that deserved to be one the Game Boy Advance and some may have found it somewhat shocking that Capcom had no plans to bring to the handheld game system back in the early 00’s.
