There is no doubt that Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 were two of the biggest games in the Mario series back in the 90’s. Both Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 were very successful back in the 90’s and it’s generally debatable among retro gamers on which title was better between two overall. In terms of sales Super Mario World has managed to reach over 20 million units worldwide and is often seen as the best selling game for the SNES overall.

While Super Mario 64 is seen as the best selling game for the Nintendo 64 it did not sell as much as Super Mario World did for the Nintendo 64. Super Mario 64 had managed to sell over 11 million units worldwide since its release back in the summer of 1996. It seemed like Super World was more popular not only because if had polished 2D graphics but also because it was a multiplayer game that allowed people to select Luigi while introducing Yoshi into the series. Super Mario 64 was only a single player game and despite the fact that it received praise for its 3D graphics and gameplay some people believe it should have been multiplayer.
