In the mid to late 90’s 3D gaming was starting to be one very popular especially with games like the Tekken series, Mortal Kombat 4, Bloody Roar, Street Fighter EX, etc.  When it came down to the Sega Dreamcast one of the few fighting titles that stands out is the or Soul Calibur game which was developed by Namco and released in 1999.  As popular as Soul Calibur was in arcade centers the game did not sell much as many people would expect shortly after its release.

Some could argue that if Soul Calibur was ported for the PS1 it could have sold more especially since the Sony  PlayStation was considered to be more popular in as a game console in countries like America.  However, when it came down to quality the 128 bit Dreamcast console was better than the PS1 and gave players a more optimal gaming experience.
