Bowser is one of the most popular video game antagonists of all time and its hard to that he has been around for about three decades.  Its also hard to believe that Bowser has never had his own video game.  We all know that in the Super Mario Bros series Mario is generally the main protagonist while Bowser is the main antagonist.   However, there have been instances where we have seen characters who were top villains in video game series have their own title.  In 1993, we saw the release of Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine for the Sega Genesis.  Also, we saw the release of  the Shadow the Hedgehog video game for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Gamecube back in 2005.  Even though Shadow the Hedgehog’s game did not receive that much of a positive reception it was still pretty cool to see one of the villains from the Sonic the Hedgehog series get their own game.

Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine had a decent reception from fans and critics because it was something new and unexpected considering the fact that Sonic the Hedgehog himself was not even featured in the game.    If Bowser had his own video game it would be weird having people play as him while trying to make Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach as the main villains.  Also, if Mario and his friends were not included in a game where Bowser was the main character that would be even more bizarre.  If Nintendo really want to make a game where Bowser is the main protagonist they would have to be very creative as far as storyline is concerned.  But if they want to make a game where Boswer takes over the Mushroom Kingdom it would be interesting in theory but in practice it would be more difficult to market since Nintendo’s audience is generally family  friendly.
