The Gran Turismo series has been around for quite some time and rarely falls to disappoint when it comes down to brand new games. Both Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive rarely have both played a significant role in making Gran Turismo one of the best racing game series of all time in the video game industry since its inception back in the 90’s. When it comes down to some of the best games in the Gran Turismo series some people would argue that the series was at its peak during the 00’s while others would agree that it has improved dramatically since then. In terms of visuals and gaming mechanics the Gran Turismo series has definitely improved over time. Ever since, Gran Turismo 6 was released back in late 2013 the game has went on to sell over three million units worldwide. However, the quantity of sales that Gran Turismo 6 did worldwide pales in comparison to that of Gran Turismo 5 which was also released for the PlayStation 3 as well.
Since its release in Fall 2010 Gran Turismo 5 had managed to sell over ten million units worldwide which was surprising less than what Gran Turismo 3 & 4 sold worldwide for the PlayStation 2. While Gran Turismo 4 sold over 11 million units worldwide since its release in 2005 Gran Turismo 3 had sold over fourteen million units worldwide since 2001. When it comes down to the racing genre of gaming the 00’s was simply incredible. In fact, many people will argue that in terms of sales the Gran Turismo series had reached its peak during the early to mid 00’s. In terms of whether or not Gran Turismo Sport could surpass Gran Turismo 6 in sales is debatable. But many people would probably agree that Gran Turismo Sport will not come close to the amount of sales that Gran Turismo 3 & 4 had back in the 00’s.
