Fifa 17 (2)

Sometimes its hard to believe that the FIFA series has been around since the early 90’s.  When the very first game in the series entitled FIFA International was released for multiple consoles such as Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis it was probably one of the most interesting sports titles of 1994.   Normally when it comes down to releasing soccer based video games Electronic Arts has generally released FIFA games multiple for multiple consoles including PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation 4.   But as many of us know EA has released FIFA 16 & 17 for almost every console except the Nintendo Wii-U.

When EA had released games prior to FIFA 16 they were featured on multiple game consoles including the Nintendo Wii.  However, the Nintendo Wii version for some of the older FIFA games had paled in comparison to the likes of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in terms of sales.  Ever since, FIFA 15 was released in the Fall of 2014 the sales for the Nintendo Wii version were relatively low in comparison to other game systems.  The PlayStation 3 version of FIFA 15 had reached over million units worldwide in terms of sales while the Xbox One version had reached over two million.  The PlayStation 4 version of FIFA 15 was the absolute best in terms of sales since it reported sold over six million units worldwide since its release. In fact, comes down to overall sales for the Wii-U console it had paled in comparison to that of the Nintendo Wii.   The Nintendo Switch on the other hand has got off to a great start in terms of sales after being made available in retail stores around the world in early March. 2017.  If EA had ever decided to bring back the FIFA series to a Nintendo console in the future then the Switch would probably be perfect for the next game FIFA 18.
