Its hard to believe that is been 15 years since Mega Man 10 was released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. Mega Man 10 was the direct sequel to Mega Man 9 from 2008 and kept the same 8-bit graphics that were used in the older entries from the NES era. It was kinda odd to see Capcom released a 8-bit video game in 2010 but they were obviously trying to appeal to longtime fans of the series. Mega Man 10 was a game that had a rather interesting yet eyebrow raising storyline to say the least. The story of Mega Man 10 took place during the 21st century and a disease spreads around the world infecting robots and humans alike. The story revolves around the recurring antagonist Dr. Wily trying to help Mega Man find a machine that he created which was capable of curing those infected by the disease. Dr. Wily’s machine capable of curing the disease was stolen by an infected robot and players can choose either Mega Man or Proto Man as they play through eight different stages within the game.

Similar to every other main entry within the Mega Man series MM10 was a 2D side-scrolling run n gun platformer that most people enjoyed. Mega Man 10 was not nearly as difficult as some of the older installments from the NES era and it shined when nostalgia was starting to become an attraction in gaming. However, looking back at the story for Mega Man 10 the fictional global disease in seems eerily similar to the COVID-19 pandemic that took place in 2020. Some wonder whether Capcom predicted COVID-19 in Mega Man 10 or if that was just a mere coincidence. As fun as Mega Man 10 was it would have been cooler if the game had 16-bit graphics and aesthetics similar to that of MM7 from 1995. Mega Man 10 was also a big deal because it was one of the final entries with the main series before Capcom released Mega Man 11 in 2018.
