There were a ton of great racing games that the world got to see during the 00’s decade during the PS2/PS3 era of gaming. We got to see many critically acclaimed classics such as Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, Gran Turismo 4, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Race Driver: Grid, Forza Motorsport, Burnout Paradise and more. The 00’s decade was considered to be the golden era of the racing genre and there are many games from that time period that definitely deserved to be remastered in the future. However, one of the many racing games that instantly comes to mind as far as deserving a remake is concerned is EA’s Burnout 3: Takedown from 2004. Burnout 3: Takedown was developed by Criterion Games and was released about 17 years ago for the PS2 & Xbox. There are numerous gamers and critics who argue that it was one of the greatest non Gran Turismo racing games of the 00’s decade. Burnout 3: Takedown had countless pros including great physics, multiple game modes along with an addictive soundtrack. Burnout 3 felt like an evolved version of Outrun 2 from late 2003 because it was an arcade racer with more depth in relation to local gameplay. Burnout 3 included game modes such as: Grand Prix, Head to Head, Takedowns and Eliminator along with crash events which were all exhilarating for players at back then.

Burnout 3: Takedown is a game that represented the pinnacle of the arcade styled racing genre which is why its considered to be so memorable. Burnout 3 was not only fun to play but it was also forgiving for newcomers. The artificial intelligence in Burnout 3: Takedown was not too challenging and had a shallow learning curve which was something that would appeal to casual gamers in general. Its a bit shocking that Burnout 3: Takedown has never been remastered for game systems like PS4 or Xbox One within the past eight years or so. Even though, Burnout Paradise was digitally modified for the PS4, Xbox One Nintendo Switch in ‘18; Burnout 3: Takedown is the game that people want to see remastered by Electronic Arts.
