Mortal Kombat 11 reaches 12 million in worldwide sales!!!

Mortal Kombat XI has managed to become one of the most popular video games in retail since its initial release for the PS4, Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One console back in March 2019. Its been over two years since the release of Mortal Kombat XI and the game has reportedly sold over 12 million copies worldwide. The Mortal Kombat franchise has been around since ‘92 and Mortal Kombat XI has managed to become the best selling game within the entire series. The hype for Mortal Kombat XI was huge prior to its release and there various aspects of the game that exceeded the aspect of various critics. Mortal Kombat XI was more gory than ever and looked great on the Unreal Engine 3. The main storyline which saw the debut of Kronika as the main antagonist of MK11; along with the return of so many familiar faces who have been apart of the series since the 90’s made this one of the best MK entries ever. The gameplay in MK11 saw the return of numerous gameplay features including fatalities, brutality and friendships. Netherrealm Studios also added new and more violent gameplay features to the combat system MK11 such as: Fatal and Krushing Blows.

Despite, there being a few negatives about MK11 revolving around the desexualization of female characters along with the Tower Of Time being difficult due to modifiers included during gameplay; almost everything else about MK11 was great overall made for an enjoyable gaming experience. In fact , MK11 was one of the better fighting games from the late 10’s along with Injustice 2 from 2017. The positives in MK11 including the gameplay, graphics, voice acting and storytelling were all strong positives. MK11 was a vast improvement over its predecessor in areas that mattered opposed to being a carbon copy MK10 from 2015 with a few modifications. There is no doubt that the MK series has aged like fine wine in past 29 years or so. There is no question that Netherrealm Studios is going to do something special for the 30th anniversary of the Mortal Kombat series next year in 2022.
