The Transformers series has been around since the 80’s and as it relates to both movies and videos games it reached its popularity between the late 00’s-early 10’s. The Transformers film series began in ‘07 and since we have seen the release six major movies which has earned over $4.8 billion within box office collectively. The Transformers franchise seemed even more popular between the late 00’s-early 10’s than it did back in the 80’s. The video games that we saw on the PS3/Xbox 360 from ‘09 onwards were quite impressive such as Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron from 2012. Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron was developed by High Moon Studios with Activision being the publisher. Similar to its ‘10 predecessor Transformers: War for Cybertron the Fall Of Cybertron game was a third-person shooter that utilized the Unreal Engine 3. Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron was initially released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows in ‘12 before it was ported to the PS4 and Xbox in 2016. There were many fans of the series who were fond of Fall Of Cybertron game for a variety of reasons. The campaign for Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron was cinematic shooter which focused on the ongoing conflict between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The storyline involved the destruction of the planet Cybertron which was something that seen in during the Transformers: Dark Of the Moon movie from 2011.
Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron had great voice-acting, amazing visuals and fast-paced third person shooter gameplay which felt somewhat similar to that of Gears Of War 2 from 2008. One of the best things about Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron was the fact that players had the opportunity to play as Autobots and the Decepticons within the campaign mode. Even though, Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron had multiplayer gameplay there were fans of the series who were critical of High Moon Studios decision to eliminate co-op gameplay within the campaign mode. However, the online multiplayer Escalation survival mode was also a strong positive in Fall Of Cybertron because it added to the game’s overall replay value. The concept of fighting off waves of enemies in order to progress to new levels is one that makes for exciting online gameplay. Fall Of Cybertron is arguably the best one of the greatest Transformers video games ever; with many people looking forward to another similar to it sometime around 2023. As many people know a new Transformers movie “Rise Of The Beasts” is set to be released in June 2022. Normally, when a Transformers movie is released a video game comes out the following year. Hopefully, by 2023 we get another third person shooter Transformers game for the PS5 and the Xbox Series X by that year.
