Is been almost two decades since The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker appeared on GameCube back in December 2002. Since its release Zelda: The Wind Waker has been seen as one of the best action-adventure games of the early 00’s. In fact, Zelda: The Wind Waker has been seen as one of the best entries within the series during the 00’s decade along with Twilight Princess from 2006. Since its initial release the The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker has been praised by various critics and gaming publications for its gameplay and cel-shaded art style. The difficulty in Zelda: Wind Waker was low compared to some of the more popular entries within the series such Majora’s Mask, Ocarina Of Time or Twilight Princess. Even though, Zelda: Wind Waker HD was re-released for the Wii-U console back in September 2013 the has never been ported for the Nintendo Switch. While Zelda; Breath Of The Wild has been one of the biggest attractions for the Switch console since March 2017; the game has also become one of the most popular and best selling titles on that particular system. While Breath Of The Wild had reached over 18 million units in sales Wind Waker hit roughly around 4.6 million.
Despite, not selling as much as Zelda Ocarina Of Time for the N64 Wind Waker was still considered to be a huge success. Its almost common knowledge that GameCube ended up becoming one of Nintendo’s weakest console in terms of commercial success. Zelda: Wind Waker could have been more successful than it was if GameCube was a bigger attraction worldwide among gamers. There is no question that the PS2 along with Xbox had a negative effect on the lack of success that GameCube had during the early 00’s in comparison to older generation game consoles that preceded it. Since the Zelda: Wind Waker game was a huge attraction on GameCube and even the Wii-U to some extent; it would definitely turn heads within the gaming world if it appeared on the Nintendo Switch. While there has hardly been any talk about Zelda: Wind Waker appearing on the Nintendo Switch its still something many people would still love to see.
