Retro Gaming 10’s- Super Mario 3D World: (2013)

As far as men games from the early part of the 10’s decade is concerned one of the few titles that came out for the Wii-U console deserves a direct sequel is Super Mario 3D World. For those who do not know Super Mario 3D World was released back in November 2013 and was a multiplayer co-op platformer which was considered to be one of the best selling titles for the Wii-U following its release. One of the cool things about Super Mario 3D World was the fact that it had similar gameplay to that of Super Mario 3D Land from 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS. However, Super Mario 3D World allowed players to choose from Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad similar to that of Super Mario Bros 2 which was initially released for the NES back in 1988. If anything Super Mario 3D World was arguably the best multiplayer installment within the entire series and a dream come true to those who were huge fans of gamers such as Super Mario Bros 2 because it should have happened sooner than it did.

Similar to various other video games within the Mario Bros series Bowser was the main antagonist but the in game mechanics for Super Mario 3D World along with its quality and visuals were amazing. Smuttiest Super Mario Bros 2 Luigi can jump higher than other characters while Peach can float in the air with Mario being the fastest character of them all. Players had the ability access various stages throughout the game with different world maps while collecting green stars and battling countless foes such as Goombas, Koopa Troopers, etc. Also, players have the opportunity to unlock Rosalina who is a hidden character in Super Mario 3D World and also has similar attacks to the ones she had in Super Mario Galaxy. Along with being praised by fans and critics alike Super Mario 3D World managed to reach close to 6 million copies in worldwide sales and ended up becoming the second best selling game for the Wii-U following its release. If there is any game from the Wii-U that deserves to be ported to the Nintendo Switch or deserves a direct sequel its Super Mario 3D World.
