As far as the Contra series is concerned there were many games that we have seen in the 80’s that are considered to be classics. Titles such as Contra III: Alien Wars from ’92 were considered to be among the best run and gun titles for the SNES back in the day and it seemed like there was never going to be a direct for it. When Contra 4 was released back in ’07 it was something that caught many people by surprise and received praised from both fans and critics alike for its gameplay and graphics which resembled that of the 16-bit Contra III: Alien Wars game of 1992.
As solid as Contra 4 was for a 2D run and gun titles there are some fans who believe that it deserved to be released in a home based console. The idea of having Contra 4 on the Nintendo Switch possibly on the Nintendo eShop does not sound like a bad idea especially since Konami has really done both big with the series since Contra: Hard Corps Uprising which came out back in 2011. But the likelihood of Contra 4 appearing on the Switch console in anyway whatsoever seems unlikely especially since the series is not nearly as poor as it was back in the late 80’s-early-90’s time period.
