When we think about 16-bit classics from the 90’s one of the many SNES titles that instantly comes to mind is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. Since its release back in ’95 Yoshi’s Island has managed to sell at least 4 million units worldwide on the SNES and is considered to be a legendary platform title for the 16-bit game console. In fact, some would argue that Super Mario World 2 was the best Yoshi game ever made. The visuals resembled something you would see in a children’s book and revealed the origins of Mario which was pretty cool. In fact, Super Mario World 2 was probably one of the most popular 2D games for the SNES aside from the original Super Mario World game which was released back in 1990.

Ever since, the release of Super Mario World 2 we got to see games such as Yoshi’s Island, Yoshi’s New Island and Yoshi’s Woolly World within the past two decades. Despite, ever other game following Yoshi’s Island arguably having more superior graphics The is no question that Super Mario World: Yoshi’s Story was the most popular title within the series.
