When we think about 16-bit classics from the 90’s one of the many SNES titles that instantly comes to mind is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. Since its release back in ’95 Yoshi’s Island has managed to sell at least 4 million units worldwide on the SNES and is considered to be a legendary platform title for the 16-bit game console. In fact, some would argue that Super Mario World 2 was the best Yoshi game ever made. The visuals resembled something you would see in a children’s book and revealed the origins of Mario which was pretty cool. In fact, Super Mario World 2 was probably one of the most popular 2D games for the SNES aside from the original Super Mario World game which was released back in 1990.
