As many people know today is the 30th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros which was released by Nintendo for the NES console back in October 1988. Super Mario Bros 3 is considered to be one of the most legendary platform titles ever along with the first games that preceded it on the NES back in the 80’s. Super Mario Bros 3 is arguably the best 2D game within the series in terms of gameplay along the likes of Super Mario World for the SNES.

Super Mario Bros 3 was the first game within the entire series to include the overworld map traveling feature which was something commonly utilized in various Mario games from the late-80’s onwards. There were games such as Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Super Mario Galaxy along with Super Mario 3D World that included the overworld map feature which made each game more enjoyable as it evolved over the past couple of decades.

Since its release on the NES back in ’88 Super Mario Bros 3 was re-released for the SNES with 16 bit graphics apart of the Super Mario Bros All-Stars Collection In 1993. Also, Super Mario Bros 3 was ported to the Game Boy Advance and released as Super Mario Advance 4 back 2003. Within the past 30 years Super Mario Bros 3 has her around the game has sold at least 18 million units for the NES. Also, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3 has managed to reach at over 5.4 million copies in sales for the Game Boy Advance which is a testament to how popular the game was and still is to this day. It’s hard to believe that Super Mario Bros 3 has been around for 30 years now and on this day the gaming world like to wish this legendary platform title Happy Birthday.
