As many people know Konami and Capcom have produced so many cool titles during the 8 & 16-bit era of gaming. Konami has produced games such as Castlevania I-III, Castlevania: Dracula X, TMNT: Turtles in Time, Contra I-III. Capcom had produced classic games such as the Final Fight I-III Mega Man I-III along with MMX. Also, Capcom created the Street Fighter II series which ended up becoming legendary within the fighting genre of gaming.

In terms if which company had better games between the late 80’s and early 90’s is generally debatable. But as far as titles that had mainstream success is concerned some might argue that Capcom may of had the slight edge. But if we are talking about the 90’s in general some of Capcom’s best work did not come until later on in the decade. In 1997, Konami had released Castlevania: Symphony of the Night while Capcom came out with Resident Evil 2 for the PS1 the following year during 1998. While Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was seen as arguably the best game within its series Resident Evil 2 sold roughly under 5 million units worldwide on the PS1. Its tough to choose which company had better games back in day. While Konami did have many enjoyable classics between the late 80’s and early 90’s some might give the slight edge to Capcom as far as popularity was concerned.
