As many people know the Neo Geo was very popular but also expensive back in the 90’s. The Neo Geo was initially priced at $649.99 when it was released back in the early 90’s and since then we got the chance to see so many cool games including King of Fighters ’98, Metal Slug, Samurai Showdown II, Fatal Fury Special and others. While SNK had many big first party titles on Neo Geo during 90’s it seemed like there where hardly any third party games on that console. Some would argue that the Neo Geo could have been more popular in countries such as America if more third party video games such as Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter II was ported to that console.

But on the other hand having too many third party games on the Neo Geo would have been pointless considering how expensive the Neo Geo was in comparison to the SNES or the Sega Genesis which ranged between $189-$199 following their initial releases. Third party titles would most likely have been overshadowed by the games developed and published by SNK for the Neo Geo during the 90’s.
