Ever since Super Mario Odessey was first released back in October 2017 the games has managed to sell over 10 million units worldwide in less than a year. Not only has Super Mario Odessey exceeded the expectations of many people in terms of sales but it was reported to be the fastest selling game in America back in November 2017 by Forbes magazine shortly after its release. Super Mario Odessey has already managed to surpass the likes of Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Seeing how much Super Mario Odessey has sold in less than a year there is no doubt that the game could definitely reach 20 million in terms of sales by October 2019. However there are many who question whether or not it will surpass the likes of Super Mario Bros 3 which has sold close to 40 million in worldwide on various gaming platforms such as the NES and the SNES since its initial release back in 1989. While its hard to tell whether or not Super Mario Odessey will ever sell that much its probably safe to say that it will surpass Super Mario Galaxy which sold over 12 million units worldwide since its release on the Wii console back in 2007.
