As far as memorable role playing games from the early 00’s are concerned one of the many titles that comes to mind for some people is Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga. Alongside Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64 Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga looked and felt like a game that was worth enough to be a direct sequel for Super Mario RPG. The 2D graphics along with the multiplayer turn based gameplay were elements of Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga which added to the overall appeal of the game itself. As popular as Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga was there are some who question whether or not the game could have been a huge success back in the early 90’s for the Super Nintendo game console.

If Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga was released before Super Mario RPG then its possible that the game could have been more successful than it was on the Game Boy Advance. However, there were so many titles such Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger along with Earthbound that Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga would had to of compete with back in the early 90’s. However, Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga could have definitely been a huge attraction if the very first and possibly only Mario RPG for the SNES.
