On of the many topics that is buzzing around in the gaming world right now is the discovery that Sony plans on excluding cross platform gameplay on different consoles. There are hot games such as Fortnite and Minecraft that will feature cross-platform gameplay between consoles such as the Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. For whatever reason Sony has expressed disinterest on having allowing cross-platform gameplay on the PS4 which is something that could pose come back to haunt them in the future. There is no doubt that the PS4 is currently the best selling game console in retail right now.

However, some are speculating that Sony’s refusal to allow Xbox One and Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy cross-platform gaming with those currently have a PS4 was not a positive reflection on the company. But since Sony is very competitive in regards to their game systems this may not come as a surprise to many people. Sony has made millions of the PlayStation 4 since late 2013. It was reported back in March 2018 that the PlayStation 4 has managed to sell over 75 million units worldwide. Besides they still have big titles such as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Horizon Zero Dawn which are still very popular. In terms of whether or not prohibiting cross platform gameplay was a good idea on Sony’s part remains to be seen over the next couple of years.
