When it comes down to classic titles for the SNES there are many people who believe that there were some games from the early 90’s that deserved to be on the Game Boy Advance. To this day it’s questionable on why R-Type was never ported for the Game Boy Advance back in the early 90’s. As a horizontal scrolling shooter title R-Type was probably one of the most popular games of the 16 bit era.

On the Game Boy Advance R-Type could have definitely turned Heads on the 32 bit handheld console. However, there were so many games such as Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Golden Sun and others that could have easily overshadowed Super R-Type during the early 00’s. The horizontal side scrolling shooter genre has not been too popular since the 80’s along with the early 90’s. In theory Super R Type could possibly have worked on the Game Boy Advance but in terms of sales it may not have done as well.
