When it comes down to racing games that truly deserve a sequel Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast is one of the few titles that comes to mind. For over a decade many fans of the series have been waiting for an Outrun 3 considering how successful Outrun 1 & 2 was following their releases. The idea of seeing an Outrun 3 in the future is possible especially since Sega Amusements International CEO Paul Williams had confirmed in late 2016 that it was a project that was definitely on their radar.

If Sega were to make an Outrun 3 having it on a console such as the Nintendo Switch would be pretty cool especially if they plan on reviving the set altogether. If the Outrun series were to be revived on the Nintendo Switch it along with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe could possibly compete with the Xbox One’s Forza Motorsport 7 or the PS4’s Gran Turismo Sport in the racing genre of gaming. If we get an Outrun 3 and have it released on the PS4 or the Xbox One the visuals may look better but it can easily be overshadowed by Gran Turismo Sport or Forza Motorsport 7. It will be interesting to see if Outrun 3 eventually becomes a reality or not within the next few years and if Sega Amusement International plans on taking any steps on making it happen.
