There is no question that Gran Turismo 6 and Mario Party 8 are two of the biggest racing titles of the 10’s decade. Ever since, both games were released back in the early 10’s they both managed to be successful in terms of sales for their respective consoles. Following its release in December 2013 Gran Turismo 6 had managed to sell over 5 million copies worldwide. Even though, Gran Turismo 6 sold less than its 2010 predecessor Gran Turismo 5 it was still praised by critics and was regarded as the of the best racing title of 2013 by some publications.

Mario Kart 8 which was originally released on the Wii-U had managed to sell over 8 million copies worldwide since its release back in the Spring of 2014. Not only did it sell more than Gran Turismo 6 but also became the best selling game on the Nintendo Wii-U. Since the release of Mario Kart 8 it has been re-released for the Nintendo Switch as Mario Kart 8: Deluxe. In terms of which game is more successful many would be inclined to give Mario Kart 8 the edge over Gran Turismo 6 seeing how popular the game itself is. But in terms of which title is a better racing game others would choose Gran Turismo 6 over Mario Kart 8.
