When it comes down to Mario and Sonic games from the 90’s there where so many memorable soundtracks that we heard in various games from each series throughout that entire decade. Two of the best songs that we heard was Spring Yard Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64. While both soundtracks were amazing is hard for some to choose one over the other.

While Spring Yard Zone was a nice 16 bit soundtrack Dire Dire Docks was a VGM that captured the vibe of its stage perfectly and sounded like it was way ahead its time. In fact Dire Dire Docks was arguably one of the best Super Mario soundtracks ever composed. In the music department some would argue that Super Mario 64 was one of the few games in the series that had better soundtracks than the Sonic the Hedgehog games from the early 90’s.
