There is no doubt that MegaMan X along with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 were two of the most popular platform titles of the 16 bit era of gaming. Both MegaMan X along with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had countless soundtracks that are considered to be legendary in the video game industry especially among retro gamers who were around during the early 90’s. While both MegaMan X and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 excellent soundtracks its generally debatable on which game had better VGM between the two.

While some would argue that the sound chip for the Sega Genesis superior others would argue that the SNES was more creative when it came down to VGM it m general. While Storm Eagle was a hard hitting tune with 16 bit guitars Ice Cap Zone had smooth synthesizers and drums which really captured the vibe of the stage itself. Both tunes were legendary so it’s really hard to choose one over the other. Overall, it really depends if you are more of a SNES or a Sega Genesis fan in the long run.
