When it comes down to video games from 2015 there is no doubt that Pokken Tournament DX and Splatoon were among two of the biggest titles for the Nintendo Wii-U during that year. The idea of having a new Pokémon fighting game at the time seemed pretty cool especially considering the fact that most games in the series tend to be RPG’s. Also, there was not too many high profile shooter titles on the Nintendo Wii-U prior to the very first Splatoon game. In terms of which game is more popular between Pokken Tournament DX and the original Splatoon game for the Nintendo Wii-U is debatable.

Even though, Pokémon is a household name and the series has been around since the 90’s Pokken Tournament was not quite as success in terms of sales as many other handheld RPG titles such as Pokémon Black and White. When it comes down to Splatoon the game managed to sell over 4.8 million units worldwide since its release. In fact, the original Splatoon game won few awards from gaming publications such as IGN for being one of the best shooter games of 2015. In terms of which game was more successful many would probably give Splatoon the edge over Pokken Tournament DX overall.
