When it comes down to action adventure titles for the Nintendo 64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is considered to be one of the best titles for that console. Since its release The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has managed to sell 7 million units worldwide and has been ported to various game consoles including the Nintendo GameCube, Wii along with the Wii-U. Nintendo had made the Ocarina of Time a 2D game opposed to a 3D title it’s questionable on whether or not the game would have had as much success as it did in the late 90’s.

There is no doubt that Nintendo could have made it happen since the SNES was not discontinued in retail stores until 1999. However, since more people where starting to become attracted to 3D gaming during the mid to late 90’s there was really no point on making Ocarina of Time a 2D title similar to The Legend of Zelda: Link of the Past. It still would have been interesting to have seen another Zelda title for the SNES considering the fact that we got two Zelda titles for NES and two for the N64.
