There is no doubt that the Streets of Rage series is a MegaDrive classic from the 90’s. In fact, Street of Rage I-III was probably among the most popular games on the Sega Genesis next to the Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy. While we did eventually get to see new Sonic the Hedgehog games on the Game Boy Advance along with various ports or remakes of older SNES games the Street of Rage Trilogy was never ported for the 32 bit handheld console.

In terms of quality it would have been interesting to see how Street of Rage would have looked on a Nintendo based console in terms of graphics. While the Sega Genesis produced amazing soundtracks that would be hard for the SNES soundchip to replicate its possible that the GBA would have fell below the expectations of many people as far as BGM is concerned. Either way, the Street of Rage series had started to decline in popularity following the release of SOR3 back in 1994 due to the fact that the beat em up genre was slowly starting fade way during the mid 90’s. Therefore, it’s questionable whether or not the Street of Rage Trilogy world have been popular in the early 00’s for the Game Boy Advance.
