The early 00’s was a pretty good time for gamers who were still fans of 2D side scrolling games. Following the release of the Game Boy Advance in 2001 there where so many cool games that we got to see for the 32 bit handheld console. When it comes down to the platform genre of gaming both Sonic Advance along with Kirby & the Amazing Mirror were to big games that the world had the chance to see in the 32 bit handheld game system.
In terms of both graphics and gameplay both Sonic Advance along with Kirby and the Amazing Mirror were solid platform titles. In terms of which game was better really depends if your more of a Sonic fan or a Kirby lover. The Sonic Advance game along with its two sequels was reminiscent of the Sonic games on the Sega Genesis during the early 90’s. Kirby & the Amazing Mirror had bright graphics and a look that was somewhat similar to older SNES titles. In terms of which game was more popular some would give the slight edge to Sonic Advance. But seeing how Kirby and the Amazing Mirror managed to earn over $16 million since its release it’s hard to say that Sonic Advance was a more successful game overall.
