Back in the 90’s there were countless arcade games that were a ton of fun to play especially with friends such X-Men: Arcade, Final Fight, Double Dragon, Battletoads, The Simpson’s etc. But when it came down to multiplayer beat em up games in arcade centers TMNT: Turtles in Time was a very popular. In fact some might argue that TMNT: Turtles in Time was the best 2D side scrolling beat em up game of the 90’s.

Back in the 80’s and early 90’s The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was at its peak in terms of popularity. The fact that the world got to see a four player side scrolling 2D beat em up game was a very big deal at the time especially considering how popular the animated series was in the late 80’s and the movies were in the early 90’s. Even though, the Double Dragon and the Final Fight series was popular in the early 90’s they did not feature four player gameplay. To this day TMNT: Turtles in Time was and is still refs as one of the best beat em up titles of the 90’s if not all time.
