When it comes down to beat em up games from the 90’s Battletoads and Streets of Rage 3 are both considered to be two of the most challenging titles of the decade. There have been many who have argued that Battletoads for the NES is very tough but possible to complete in co-op mode. However, there have been many people who have simply found Street of Rage 3 almost impossible to complete on a level higher than the easy especially the American version of the game.

Each stage of Streets of Rage 3 felt longer than its two predecessors along with the fact that the boss battles seemed more difficult due to how advanced the AI was throughout the game. Even in, co-op mode Street of Rage 3 was quite challenging along with the fact that players were expected to complete the game on the highest difficulty in order to get the best ending. In terms of which game is more popular many people are inclined to argue in favor of Battletoads especially since a majority of NES games from the late 80’s-early 90’s in general were extremely difficult to complete.
