When many people think about old school MegaMan titles some of the first game consoles that comes to mind includes the NES along with the SNES. In fact the MegaMan X series had first started on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System before we got a chance to see MegaMan X3 and almost ever other title in the X series on PlayStation consoles.

The world had a chance to see MegaMan X4-X6 on the PS1 along with seeing X7 & X8 on the PS2. If Capcom released MegaMan X6-X8 exclusively for the Nintendo GameCube some might argue that each game would have stood out more. There are many retro gamers who believed that the GameCube console had superior visuals than the PS2. If that is the case having MegaMan X6-X8 on exclusively on GameCube could have definitely worked back in the early 00’s.

However, in terms MegaMan X6-X8 having more success on GameCube opposed to the PS2 is questionable. The MegaMan series was slowly starting to decline in popularity since the mid 90’s. By the time the early 00’s came along the series was not as nearly as popular as it once was mainly due to the decline of popularity of the 2D platform genre of gaming. While the PS2 was considered had the edge over GameCube in terms of sales and popularity having MegaMan X6-X8 on Nintendo GC would have been great.
